What is a Postpartum Doula?

At Nurturing Nido, we believe everyone deserves personalized support to ensure a thriving nest with their newborn. A postpartum doula is your mentor through the early phases of raising a child by guiding you through feedings, bonding with your child + partner, and ensuring everyone receives the rest, recovery, and physical + mental health care they deserve.

We come to your home during the day or stay overnight as soon as the baby arrives. From a few days a week to every day, you choose how often we visit. As your postpartum doula, let me focus on your household chores and be your Google so you can focus on tending to your newborn nest.

Whether you just found out you’re pregnant, are nearing the expected delivery date, or your child recently arrived, we are here and ready to help.

Postpartum Doula Services We Provide:

  • Infant Feeding Support – whether you choose to breastfeed/chestfeed, bottle feed, or a mix of both, we demonstrate different nursing positions, check for secure latching, and more.
  • Evidence-Based Research – make informed choices of how you want to care for your little one – diapers, baths, baby carriers, sleep, etc. We cover these topics in a prenatal visit and after the baby arrives.
  • Emotional + Physical Healing – you all are going through a change that impacts you not only physically, but also emotionally. We are here to listen, comfort, and reaffirm your hard work. You also need time to rest and recover, and we will help you learn how to balance it all.
  • Household Tasks – don’t worry about the laundry, we’ve got that! We can also prepare you small meals, organize meal trains, run quick errands, and other light household duties.
  • Care for All Family Members – whether there are older fur or human siblings, and/or other adult family members, they all will receive the extra attention and assurance of their roles within your unique nest.
